APR
As UK iPhone users will know, we still don’t have a nice & easy way to create ringtones of our iTunes Music. To me this seems a little unfair, especially considering how absolutely rubbish the default ringtones on the phone are.

So after hearing “Strum” one too many times I decided to create a few ringtones based on TV & film themes to pop onto my iPhone and I now I have the ‘Grandstand’ theme as my ringtone – woo!
To say all that and not publish my the fruits of my labour would be just mean, so I’ve zipped up 13 files for the following TV shows/films.
- Countdown
- Fame Academy
- Grandstand
- James Bond – big
- James Bond – original
- Matrix
- National Lottery Balls
- Play your cards right
- Radio 1 Newsbeat
- Strictly Dance Fever
- The Apprentice
- The Bill
- X Factor
To install these onto your iPhone simply open up iTunes and drag the files into your ‘Ringtones’ page.

New Stuff & Packaging
Posted by Adam Posted in Personal and Misc 3 comments
Is it just me or does everyone else like receiving new stuff in the post/by courier and then looking forward to seeing how its packaged more than the actual thing itself???
In the last week or two I’ve been rather addicted to ordering stuff from the Apple Store. After the success of ordering Leopard and getting it on time, I decided it was time to try them out a bit more so, have ordered the following:
- A new Mac Mini
- x2 Wireless Keyboards
- x2 Mighty Mice
- Leopard Server
and…
- A MacBook Pro – 2.6 Core2Duo, 2GB RAM, 200Gb 7200 RPM HD with 17” Hi-res Glossy screen
So far, I have received everything except the actual MBP which will hopefully turn up some time in the next week or two.
But my addiction didn’t stop at the Apple Store, it spread to Amazon. Firstly, I thought subscribing to Amazon Prime (not an affiilte link) would be a good idea, and it certainly was – free next day delivery on every order for 12 months for £49/year.
With prime subscription in hand I went ahead and ordered:
- A new camera – Sony Cybershot 7.2 mega pixel thing
- 4 DVDs (on separate orders just to ‘test’ the prime thing)
- A Birthday Present for a relative – I even got Amazon to gift wrap it because I was feeling lazy
Now I have the camera, expect to see plenty more pics added to flickr… mainly of packaging but I might venture outside with the camera at some point and see what excitement can be found while breathing fresh air.

RailsRumble - Registration
Posted by Adam Posted in Misc 0 comments

Well, I registered – one of the very first “teams” registered as my user ID is 4! Sadly the registration process had a few delays and then the DNS didn’t propogate fully (so in order to register I needed to add my own hosts entry to their IP).
66.148.74.15 registration.railsrumble.com
The application I’m developing is a concept we thought about about a year ago called boxwatch but never really got around to building it – so this is a good time to get it built. I won’t say much about the actual concept at the moment, but I’ll document the process on this blog and I’m planning on filming the 48 hours and then speeding it up into about 3 minutes – mainly to see what I look like when I work – fun huh?!
As I right now, 50 of the 150 seats have been taken and registration has only been open for about 40 minutes, so if you wanted to register, head over http://registration.railsrumble.com and enter your details.

To Rumble or not to Rumble...
Posted by Adam Posted in Misc 0 comments

At 7pm this evening registration for RailsRumble 2007 opens, and I haven’t decided whether or not to enter. I have an idea but I don’t know if I’ll be free at the weekend for long enough to actually complete it.
This would have been a brilliant time to build Railsify, but I’ve already done that and don’t really want to start from scratch (and I’m sure plenty of people would assume I had cheated and copied code from the original site).
Aaah, I’m annoyed that I built Railsify so early now!
